Rector Prof. Dr. İnci: “Our graduates are individuals who challenge change and transformation in every professional environment they enter.”

Rector of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, attended the 16th General Assembly of the Boğaziçi University Alumni Association (BURA) and addressed the alumni. The opening speech of the General Assembly, which was held with the participation of alumni from different periods and sectors, was delivered by Boğaziçi University alumnus and Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, who referred to the steps taken within the framework of the National Technology Initiative and drew attention to the great potential of Boğaziçi University in terms of R&D collaborations with the private sector. Kacır stated: “Let us take ownership of our institutions and our universities. Let us continue to contribute to our University’s fulfillment of its responsibilities to our society, our country, and humanity. Let us make greater efforts to ensure that the name of Boğaziçi continues to be associated with science, technology, and research.”

In his speech, Rector of Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Naci İnci, referred to the importance of Boğaziçi University for both the country and the world, stating: “The clearest evidence of this is our thousands of highly successful alumni—many of whom are present in this hall—who hold influential positions both in our country and around the world. Boğaziçi University graduates stand out as individuals who challenge change and transformation in every professional environment they enter. For many years, I have observed that our students and alumni, who question established patterns and clichés with a critical perspective, contribute positively to our country through their work.”

“OUR ALUMNI ARE THE BEARERS AND REPRESENTATIVES OF BOĞAZİÇİ CULTURE”

Emphasizing the importance of alumni for Boğaziçi University, Rector Prof. Dr. İnci stated: “Our alumni are the bearers and representatives of Boğaziçi culture. Through the stance they demonstrate and the achievements they attain in their post-graduation lives, they contribute to the prestige of our University. Our alumni—whose numbers exceed tens of thousands both in Türkiye and abroad—enhance the brand value of Boğaziçi University. As the University administration and academic staff, we take great pride in the success of our alumni,” and invited alumni to continue supporting the University.

“OUR ALUMNI MUST TAKE INITIATIVE TO MOVE BOĞAZİÇİ FORWARD”

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Boğaziçi University Alumni Association (BURA), Fehim Paluluoğlu, emphasized BURA’s commitment to standing by the University at all times through its strong and qualified alumni network, and called on all alumni to take initiative to carry Türkiye’s pioneering university even further.

Chairman of the BURA High Advisory Board and CEO of BMC, Prof. Dr. Murat Yalçıntaş, underlined that the primary factor uniting alumni and students around Boğaziçi University is the deep bond of affection embedded in the institution’s foundations. He stated that members of the Boğaziçi community should address their differences of opinion in a manner that does not undermine this relationship, in order to continue supporting their University.

At the well-attended gathering, activities organized by alumni in the fields of education, technology, psychology, and many other areas were introduced, and speeches were delivered by alumni from different generations and sectors.
